What is BugTrail?
BugTrail records what someone does in a web browser, replays it automatically, and turns a failure into a bug report that already contains the exact steps to reproduce it.
The problem
Someone reports: "I clicked Pay and nothing happened." A developer then has to guess what the person did, in what order, on which page, with which data. BugTrail removes the guessing.
What you can do
| Task | How |
|---|---|
| Capture a user journey | Use the browser extension. See Record a session. |
| Re-run it on any machine | Use the replay command. See Replay a recording. |
| Share results | Export JUnit, HTML or CSV. See Reports. |
| Keep it as a test | Generate a test script. See Generate a script. |
| File the bug | Create a Jira issue automatically. See Jira. |
Who it's for
- Testers and support staff who want to hand developers a reproducible bug, without writing code.
- Developers and QA engineers who want to start an automated test from a real session instead of a blank file.
